Residency Location
Set in Vila Franca de Xira, a town shaped by centuries of layered history — from Roman presence to Moorish influence and royal legacy — the surroundings offer a rich cultural landscape that continues to inform contemporary creative practice.
Positioned along the Tagus River, the area balances proximity to Lisbon with a slower, more grounded rhythm. Here, everyday life unfolds through local markets, cafés, and public squares, creating an immersive environment where residents can engage with both place and community.
This context invites a deeper connection between research, creation, and lived experience — supporting artistic processes that are reflective, situated, and open to exchange.
